It might seem intimidating to get started on a Civil 3D template. There are some NCS based templates that install along with the product, but they are pretty basic.
For Civil 3D users in the US, you’ll want to check out the “US California Content”. The template includes some more diverse styles than in the standard templates. Also, there are kits for the Texas DOT and NC DOT available on the web.
You might want to explore some of the country kits that are available as part of the Civil 3D install. (This works for Civil 3D 2010, as well as Civil 3D 2011 once it is available.) There are additional packs, like the DOT packs above, on the web at our product center.
Jack is the lead on the UK and Ireland kit, you can read his thoughts on it here.
Christopher had a few posts last year about country kits- like the Australia and New Zealand content pack, and the UK and Ireland content pack.
To get to the content packs, go to your Add/Edit Programs and do a Change/Remove.
Choose Add or Remove Features
Pick what you want, and go. If you don’t see your country, check out the list on the web.
