Another guest post from Matt Anderson. Thanks, Matt! ~DP
In the last post, I briefly introduced the Catchment object as one of the newest members to the AutoCAD Civil 3D objects. The goal of that object is to allow you to specify the area, time of concentration, and runoff coefficient on the drawing canvas. In yesteryear - this information manually transcribed into the analysis packages. New for 2012: Edit in Storm and Sanitary Analysis!
The icon lives on the Analyze Tab, Design Panel or you can find it contextually on the Pipe Network Panel.
This command launches Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2012, exports the selected pipe network:
And together with the connected catchment information, and loads the current drawing in as an underlay with a couple clicks of the mouse.
For those of you who have custom part lists, I urge you to check out \SSA 2012\Samples\Part Matching directory!
To learn more about what’s new with Civil 3D 2012 visit our Product Center, and be sure to register for the 2012 Virtual Event on April 20, 2011.
Enjoy! Until next time.

Dana,
Can you edit these drainage areas and flow paths afterwards?

After having exported the Pipe network to SSA-2012 and run the analysis, there is NO way to get the design data back into Civil 3D.
How am I going to update my Civil 3D pipe profile view bands to display Velocity, Flow etc.
